AT CEC, we believe that success is about many things. It’s about reaching full academic potential. It’s about preparing for college. It’s also about how your child feels about her work and about herself. It’s about understanding your child – how she works, what motivates her, who she is. In our work with your child, these things do not take a back seat. They are an integral part of how we define success.
At CEC, we don’t have students as our clients, we have families. Our approach demands strong communication with parents and students as we support and motivate children to reach their full potential. We believe that in order to be good at our work, we need to build a solid relationship with you and your child.
At CEC, our work with your child is integrated. With consultants trained not only as tutors but also as SAT/ACT prep consultants, your child can continue along his college prep path with the same staff member who might also be providing math support. In fact, we moved into SAT/ACT prep at the request of families who felt their children had a great relationship with us and knew and understood them as learners. The combination of services is unique and powerful.
ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Scott J. Coronis
After graduating from Dartmouth College in 1981, I moved to New Jersey in 1983 to begin my career in education. Since 1988, I have provided Northern New Jersey families with extensive private tutoring services in a number of different fields, with an emphasis on critical thinking. I take pride in establishing relationships with families and teaching students who are eager to expand their minds, talents, and skills, and bring a depth of professional experience and expertise to those who strive to excel.
